What do we do when we flare?
When we flare, we simply widen the end of a tube in a conical shape. It is a tool that does not require excessive skill, as it is easy to use. Generally, the flaring tool is made up of three main components: a metal bar with notched holes where pipes of different sizes fit, a screw with a handle that enters the mouth of the tube, and a metal arc where the handle fits and allows rotation. The metal parts of the flaring tool are made of chrome-plated stainless steel, which makes them resistant to rust and corrosion, and guarantees a good-looking finish.
How to use a flaring tool?
First, you must clean the end of the tube and remove any impurities it may have. Next, we must know the measurement of the tube to know which hole in the metal bar we should use. You must place said bar in the hole found below the screw, tighten the arc so that the bar is held firmly and we can turn the wrench without any problem. Finally, we must insert the end of the tube into the hole to, ultimately, turn the screw and press the cone into the tube.
